Grasp It

Paul understood the struggle of believing God could love us. Imagine, his passion had been killing Christians. One of the major hindrances to people coming to Christ and actively serving him is being so ashamed of their past and not being able to comprehend how God could possibly love them or want to use them. Think simply of the people who ridicule Christians, calling them names and making fun of them. How hard it would be to make the turn around and humble themselves before this God and accept his love. God is all about the turn around business. Turn arounds are Jesus' specialty! They thrill God's heart.

Paul's message to the Ephesians is a good one to print off and put on our bathroom mirrors to read each day.

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen

Lord, help us today by faith to grasp the power and dimension of your love. In Jesus' name, Amen

After walking through infertility issues with our daughter, I find it a privilege to pray for women in similar situations. Today at 9:45 two embryos will be implanted in the womb of a wonderful young woman whom my husband had the honor of baptizing here in the Lake several years ago. She and her husband long to have a child (or two). Would you please pray for these babies to flourish and grow up to love and serve the Lord!

Next week I will have all my grandchildren here and want to do a special week long series of praying character into our children/grandchildren. We will see if the Holy Spirit leads the way or has another plan!
