Start Fresh

We yearn for a fresh start. We pray for a hand that will enter the dark cavern of our world and do for us the one thing we can't do for ourselves-make us right again.

January 3
Even under the covers my toes are still cold. Why have I not changed out the summer coverlet for winter's velvet duvet filled with down? The few Christmas decorations, which had been placed around the house, did not go back neatly into the correct boxes. Then I missed saving $6 at the grocery store due to a miscommunication and it seemed as if everything was against me. My source of joy was plugged into the wrong socket.
Politics, finances, physical pain, house hold maintenance and chores were mounting in front of me...things that really are not of eternal value were choking me. Trying hot chocolate with almond cream and a decadent brownie for dinner brought only momentary relief. It's time to start again! Recognize the battle capable of quickly igniting in our minds. Take every thought captive and pull of the blanket of God's love and curl up with only Him.
He forgives your sins—every one.
He heals your diseases—every one.
He redeems you from hell—saves your life!
He crowns you with love and mercy—a paradise crown.
He wraps you in goodness—beauty eternal.
He renews your youth—you're always young in his presence.
Psalm 103:4

I choose Him!
Pray:
How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord Almighty! Our souls yearn and even faint for you as our hearts and flesh cry out for a touch of the living God. Forgive us when we lose our focus and draw our eyes back to Your direction and allow us to start again. Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere. In Jesus Name, Amen
