Storms of Life

July 2-3
There are still 1.4  million people in the SE without power.  The downed trees brought devastation to so many in our area.  A car trying to find a way of escape from blocked roads, became trapped on our private road Friday night.  The temperature rose to 88 degrees inside my father's home, so his nurse put him in the car and drove to her home where there was power. Phone call after phone call has brought unbelievable stories from friends in Roanoke and street after street is taped off with yellow crime scene tape indicating the street is impassible.  Making the trek home from Nashville with our daughter and two young grandsons in the car Sunday, it never crossed my mind that gas would be a problem due to the fact that without electricity the pumps could not function.  One woman said she passed a station with cars backed up 2 miles waiting for gas.
Weather storms and the storms of life bring people together!  Neighbors around the lake have opened their doors to those in need.  We've been blessed to have a 3 week old all the way to an 92 year old!

Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.  1 Peter 4:9

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
