Uncharted Waters Part 1

Help me Jesus!  I wrote this devotional late the other night and obviously forgot to post it the next day, going on to writing July 18th's message and posting it on the 17th.  Sorry, I'm in grandparenting mode.  .
July 17
The grandchildren are here for a couple weeks, so if I waiver a day or two know I am most likely still alive, but possibly lacking in the ability to write!  I know I need this Jesus time, so I am trusting the Spirit to equip me for both tasks.
Still hanging with Joshua, after The One in a Million study I was encouraged by this message in The Women of Faith Bible referring to chapter 3:1-17 in the book of Joshua.
I don't think there is one of us who doesn't want to know...
How do I discover God's will for my life?

God has a plan. He himself will led the Israelites.  The waters of the Jordan parted, but only when the priests walked forward by faith, and their feet touched the water's edge.
Have you ever sensed God leading you into uncharted waters, to a place you've never been before?
How can you discover God's will?
What is a prerequisite for knowing God's will?
The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned through the Spirit.  The person with the Spirit makes judgements about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgements, for, "Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.  1 Corinthians 2:14-16

How can you be sure you meet the requirements?
And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 1 John 5:11

We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true.  And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. 1 John 5:20

What is the first thing you must do when you seek God's will?
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it  will be given to you.  James 1:5

What are some of the blessings you receive when you follow God's will?
Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.  Commit your way to the Lord: trust in him an he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.  Psalm 37:4-6

Whether you turn to the right or the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it."  Isaiah 30:21

God, here we are...delighting in who You are...seeking Your will for our lives, and giving thanks that we have eternal life through Jesus.  Show us today where to walk.
