The Battle is the Lord's

The battle is the Lord's. 1 Samuel 17:47

John MacArthur teaches, "When Satan attacks, don't fight; report to the Commander, remembering the battle is the Lord's."

MacArthur also writes on areas in which the enemy attacks us.
1) Undermining God's character and credibility. He wants us to doubt God, as he made Eve doubt.
He wants us to doubt his Word, his power and his love.
2) Making it hard to live the Christian life.  Satan doesn't want your life to be easy.  He wants it to be
very difficult.  Three ways he attacks our lives are:
   a) Persecution from friends, family members, and work colleagues.
   b) Peer Pressure-fear of losing friends or not being liked
   c) Peaceful Preoccupation- easy to be a Christian in America.  (This was written in 1986.)
3) Confusing the believer with false doctrine.
4) Hindering the believers service to Christ
5) Causing division in the Body of Christ
6) Urging believers to trust in their own resources
7) Causing believers to be hypocritical
8) Making believers worldly
9) Causing believers to disobey God's Word

So when we see these darts being tossed our way, we need to lift up our shields of faith allowing truth to shine forth and expose the darts.  We need to have on our helmets of salvation and remember who has won the victory
