Found these sweet cousins out on our screened porch reading together!
Stepping back into the Easter story, I journaled...
Lord its easy for me to understand how the disciples didn't recognize you in your risen form. I think we overlook your presence everyday.
"Then their eyes were opened, and they recognized Him, but He disappeared from their sight."
Hmm. Was that a precursor of Hebrews 11:1 and the kind of faith we would need?
"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for an assurance about what we do not see."
Jesus popped into view again and posed a potent question to the disciples. One that He likewise may have asked us on occasion. "Why do doubts arise in your hearts?" Luke 24:38
But it didn't end there! "Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures." Luke 24:45
Oh, Father God, open our minds and illuminate our hearts in a manner which banished all doubts!
In Jesus Name, Amen
