Just Breathe

October 14
We are so excited to be attending the wedding this weekend of two of my husband's former students. Hopefully, I will remember my camera and have some good pics to post next week.  In the wee hours of one morning this week, I wrote this to the mother and the bride to be.

I've bene praying for you two. Starting Thursday I'm setting my phone alarm to ding every 3 hours from 9-9 as a reminder to pray for y'all to take a deep breath and stop and enjoy the moment no matter what you are doing.  God willing, this is the only time the two of you will go through this wedding experience together.   Do not grow anxious, but cherish each moment. Stop, hug, hold one another's hands.  Wink or smile at one another across a room when you can.  This time is a precious gift given to a mother and a daughter to share. Don't give the enemy a foothold to steal any joy.  I promise you he is going to try!

When you are getting dressed for each event the next few days, even putting on your pjs mom or your sexy nightie Saturday night, bride, I"m praying you remember you are clothed with the love of Christ.

"Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh."

Romans 13:14

Winds may blow, rains may come, people may not show up or show up at the wrong time.  Food may burn or spill, toilets may overflow, but remember, you two godly women:

"She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come." Proverbs 31:25

Everyone has a different way of doing things and while this day is all about the bride and groom; parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, and friends are going to say the dumbest things and think they know what is best.

"All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, 'God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.'" 1 Peter 5:5

"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patients."  Colossians 3:12

My guess is y'all have already had to say, "God you are in control!" more than once since this engagement period began.  He is in control and he loves you all so much and has been excited about this union since the day he created this bride and groom to be!

I'm praying you don't miss the moments and like the song says, "Just Breathe!"
