To Be...Elated

When you and your brother both pull a fish out of the water at the same time, you are elated!
There was so much joy and a sense of accomplishment on that dock.

Elated-make some one ecstatically happy.  I remember picking up a high school vocabulary workbook and learning the word elated! It remains a favorite still today.

What elates you?
Does the "high" linger or is it short lived?

What are some Bible stories where elation takes place?

The wedding at Galilee where the water turned into wine.
When the blind man could see or the crippled man could walk.
The moment Lazarus..."Came forth" from the tomb.
How about when Mary, Mary and Salome found Jesus' tomb empty!

Paul puts the greatest joy giver into perspective:
"Blessed are to be envied," he said, "are those whose sins are forgiven and put out of sight.  Yes, what joy there is for anyone whose sins are no longer counted against him by the Lord."   Romans 4:7-8

Grab on to these verses of elation:
"The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart.  He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I bust out in songs of thanksgiving."  Psalm 28:7

"Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of  your presence, Lord."  Psalm 89:15
