How Life Plays Out

January 31
In the movie, Stranger Than Fiction, the main character realizes his life is being written for him and is trying to determine if the author is writing a comedy or a tragedy. (Realizing if it is a tragedy, it will result in his death.) Tragedies are tragic, because the characters are powerless to save themselves from their plight.

Christianity is more of a romance! While death, pain, and sin abound in the scripts of our lives, we have a Savior who provides a happy ending.

But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and
uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. 2 Corinthians 2:14

Not one of us knows how today will play out. It may bring great elation to some of us and devastation or even death to others. I am thankful for a faith which provides stability in the wild ride called life.

PT Savior, like a shepherd lead us! Forgive us when our gaze drifts from You and we allow ourselves or others to author our lives. May we trust in the plan of your most gracious hand. When the battle is fierce in the valley, lead us out and position us on a high place of refuge and restore our weary souls. In Jesus' name, Amen
