Continual Presence

Our youngest and his wife!
January 22
Challenged by our pastor to have 30 minutes of silence a day, as John spoke of happening in heaven (See Revelation 8:1), we've found around our house that the quiet time makes for an introduction to some deep discussions.  While taking a wooden spoon to some stir fry, I began thinking about heaven and being in the continual presence of Jesus.  You see, that's my favorite thing to do on earth, but the contemplation led me to consider if that is God's intended use of my time.
I know…too heavy for Boojoyful, right?

A bicycle is coming to mind…balance!

He said to them (the 11 remaining disciples), "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation."  Mark 16:15

After being out and about "feeding the five thousand" Jesus said to them: "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest. So they went away by themselves in a boat, to a solitary place." Mark 6:31b-32

An honest evaluation of these contemplations makes me realize it's a lot more comforting to be with Jesus than some people.  When we get out and about, we get hit in the face and heart with the repercussions of public encounters.  But, it we are not out and about God's business, are we pleasing the Lord and fulfilling His purpose for our lives?

…to be continued.
