Widget

Happy September Birthday to this 3 year old!

September 7

In a quite moment I asked the Lord to speak to me and all I heard was the word widget. Perplexed as to whether it was even a word, I Googled it. Every definition I read left me stupefied.

"The word widget is a generic term for a bit of self-contained code that displays a program, or a piece of a program, that is also (usually) a shortcut to a larger application."  Say what?

My brain threw out the question, "What's the difference in a widget and an icon?"
Searching that avenue of questioning the option to view a Youtube video popped up. After watching a hoot of a woman with ginormous earrings give her explanation, I had a better understanding of why God had sent me down this rabbit trail. (You don't really need to watch the video unless you want to understand widgets more clearly.)

Can you remember back to a time before you knew the Lord and you tried to read the Bible and you'd be left wondering "What does that mean?" Thus the phrase, "It's all Greek to me."
When you know the Lord, then You have the indwelling of a personal interpreter, the Holy Spirit, who can make sense of the Message.  I like to call Him the Illuminator! But also, the face to face instruction (like in the Youtube video on widgets) from a pastor, Bible group study, mentor or teaching video can be so helpful and give extra insight.

Be on the alert for the person or people God may be calling you to come alongside and help instruct or bring to an excellent teaching venue.  In the next week great studies such as Bible Study Fellowship, Community Bible Study and great video teaching series will be offered in churches and homes around the world.  Get plugged in!

"These are the wise sayings of Solomon,   David’s son, Israel’s king—
Written down so we’ll know how to live well and right,
    to understand what life means and where it’s going;
A manual for living,  for learning what’s right and just and fair;
To teach the inexperienced the ropes  and give our young people a grasp on reality.
There’s something here also for seasoned men and women,
    still a thing or two for the experienced to learn—
Fresh wisdom to probe and penetrate,  the rhymes and reasons of wise men and women."

Proverbs 1:2-6
