Heading Home

December 30-31
Heading home this morning before sunrise (no we had not been out partying all night) we gazed at this gorgeous view. I wonder if this is what the road to heaven looks like?
Shortly thereafter we passed a bill board which held this statement: "If you died today where would you spend eternity?" Within five minutes we saw an exit ramp covered in the flashing lights of emergency vehicles and down in a ravine was a car laid upside down and totally flattened. Our prayers went up for those captured within.

Psalm 39:4-5 Show me, Lord, my life's end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting my life is. You have made my days a mere hand breadth' the span of my years is as nothing before you. Everyone is but a breath, even those who seem secure.

PT Keeper of our Days, we find peace in the recognition of Your sovereignty. As we stop today and reflect back on 2010 we know those days are a compilation of successes and failures. We committed sins and are also guilty of sins of omission! We cherish the love and forgiveness which You have showered upon us and prayerfully upon reflection we have exhibited those characteristics to others as well. For many, 2010 has been a year of good-byes as we have buried friends and loved ones. Oh how we hope they are with You, Father. We know not how many days await us before we head to our heavenly home, but we thank You for that hope and ask for courage and obedience to share the Gospel message so others may know of the eternal security which is available. In Jesus' Name, Amen
