I read in the news this week that Betty Crocker is a fake personality.  Click on the link to see a slideshow of her portraits over the years.  She gets younger!!!!!

There are a lot of "fakes" out in the world, especially in the area of beauty.  Unfortunately, there are "fakes" when it comes to people.  Scam artists, falsifiers, impersonators and fair weather friends.

Opening our Bibles to Matthew 24:23-25 we are warned about "fakes".   If anyone tries to flag you down, calling out, "Here's the Messiah!" or points, "There he is!" don't fall for it. Fake Messiahs and lying preachers are going to pop up everywhere.  Their impressive credentials and dazzling performances will pull the wool over the eyes of even those who ought to know better.  But I've given you fair warning.

Paul addresses our authenticity in Romans 12:9-10
Love from the center of who you are; don't fake it. Run for dear life from evil; hold on for dear life to good. Be good friends who love deeply; practice playing second fiddle.
