In A Name

Beautiful artwork from the children's book "B" is for Bethlehem.

December 24
Not being able to sleep a few nights ago,  I decided to chat with Jesus and began to sing to him...
"Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, there's just something about that name.
Master, Saviour, Jesus, like the fragrance after the rains.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, let all heaven and earth proclaim
Kings and Kingdoms will all pass away, but there's something about that Name!"

I love what the name of Christ evokes in my soul.  Holiness, hope, joy, love, compassion, security, truth, righteousness.

Turn on the news and the headlining names most likely stir up some different emotions.  Chat at the Christmas/Holiday office party and chances are a colleagues or competitor's name may surface that thrills your heart or makes it flutter due to dislike, distrust or jealousy. There is power in a name.

While the name of Jesus truly is the most precious name to me it has riled many others throughout the ages.   God selected Jesus' name, which means salvation.

We are painting the name Jesus and selecting descriptive words for each letter.
J-just, joyful
E-everlasting
S-savior, sacred
U-understanding, universal
S-sacrificial

May your Christmas Eve discussions include the marvelous name of Jesus!
