It Makes Sense- To Offer Ourselves to God

Found these old photos from a 4th of July gathering.
We've added some more little ones since this time.
Love all these peeps so much!
Watching them grow and serve the Lord brings us joy!

January 26-27
"Dear friends, God is good.  So I beg you to offer your bodies to him as a living sacrifice, pure and pleasing.  That's the most sensible way to serve God.  Don't be like the people of this world, but let God change the way you think. Then you will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing to him."  Romans 12:1-2

Paul pronounces a proper plan!  For all God has done for us, from creating us, giving us life, to sending the perfect sacrifice to wash away our awful sins; we should be grateful to have the opportunity to offer ourselves to his service.

The world doesn't see it that way and the only way for us to escape the ways of the world is by allowing God to change us from the inside out.

John Piper says this about Romans 12 and how we can offer ourselves to God.
"Romans 12 oozes with mercy. 'Show mercy with cheerfulness...Let love be genuine...Give to the saints...Bless those who persecute you...Weep with those who weep...Associate with the lowly...Repay no one evil for evil...Never avenge yourselves...If your enemy is hungry feed him.' Build your lives on mercy and become merciful.

Let every act of your body in living be an act of worship. That is, let every act of your living body be a demonstration that God is your treasure. Let every act of your living body show that Christ is more precious to you than anything else.  Let every act of your living body be a death to all that dishonors Christ.  Present a living holy body to God means give your members-your eyes, your tongue, your hands and feet-give your body to do righteousness, not sin. That's what would make a body holy."

Another Paul prompt related to offering ourselves to the Lord ...
"You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body."
1 Corinthians 6:19-20

God, you are worthy of all honor and praise. May our lives be an offering reflecting our love for you.
In Jesus' name, Amen

"The Lord is my strength, the reason for my song, because he has saved me. I praise and honor the Lord-he is my God and the God of my ancestors."  Exodus 15:2
