Plugged into Nothing

Have you ever left one of your devices charging to come back and find it hasn't juiced up at all.
When I've done this the issue is that I've plugged into the device, but the other end of the cord has slipped out and isn't in the power source.

That is such an example of how our faith funs out of vibrance and power. It's not plugged into the power source.  God's Word!

I was inquiring about a young woman I had helped mentor this past year.  A friend said, "She's going to church, meeting with a mentor, and attending Bible Study, but there is no fruit."  In the mentoring process I had agreed to be an accountability partner and asked that this woman just forward me what she was reading in God's Word each day.  She never did it once.  She was attending "events" wanting to connect with people, but she wasn't connecting with God by pouring the power of his Word into her life.  We can attend event after event, but if we are not connected to God through the study of his Word, a habit of repentance, praise and prayer the chance are we will not get powered up.

Dwight Moody said, "I never saw a fruit-bearing Christian who was not a student of the Bible.  If a man neglects his Bible, he may pray and ask God to use him in His work; but God cannot make use of him, for there is not much for the Holy Ghost to work upon."

What are you plugged into?

"Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company  of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.  That person is like a tree planted by streams of water which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither-whatever they do prospers."  Psalm 1:1-3

"But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you.  You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ.  All scripture is inspirited by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives.  It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right."
2 Timothy 3:14-16
