Spirit Lead Me Worship-Day 11
Day 11 Worship Through Sacrifice
Whew! Im so glad we don't have to sacrifice animals anymore.
She Reads Truth writer, Melanie Rainer, wrote on this topic-
"Sacrifice looks like submission to God as He renews my heart, mind, words, service—my whole life—to better reflect His perfect character and boundless mercy. I am called to sacrifice my sinful nature, my active temptations, and my selfishness in an ongoing act of worship and praise to God, whose sacrifice alone makes me worthy to stand before Him."

One of the key passages we are called to study is Romans 12:1-2
"I appeal to you, therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."
Won't it be amazing to talk to Paul in heaven? What an example of a life sold out for Christ and a person who genuinely cared about reaching the lost.
At first I pondered exactly what I was to learn about my body being a living sacrifice. The world would have us wonder if it has to do with body fat or how fab we look physically. I think what Paul is talking about is how we use our body. Are the actions of our hands and feet, the words of our mouths, holy and presentable to God?
Hebrews 13:16 "Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God."
John Piper said, "A body becomes a holy sacrifice of worship when it is devoted to God's purposes of righteousness and mercy...Let every act of your body in living be an act of worship. That is, let every act of your living body be a demonstration that God is your treasure. Let every act of your living body show that Christ is more precious to you than anything else. Let every act of your living body be a death to all that dishonors Christ.
Show the worth of Christ by the way you use your body."
Oh, Lord Jesus, may where our feet take us today take with them hands ready to offer mercy to others. May the words that flow from our mouths speak as Jesus does...words of love, comfort, kindness, encouragement and guidance. May all that our bodies act out be a sweet, sweet, pleasing sacrifice to our Father. In Jesus' Name, Amen
