Spirit Lead Me - Worship Day 5

Day 5 Worship Through Gratitude
To have a heart that is consistently thankful we must know the character of God and have faith in what is not scene. Romans 8:24

"Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his faithful love endures forever."  1 Chronicles 16:34

She Reads Truth writer Melanie Rainer posted on their site today, "In corporate worship, private prayer, in the smallest moments, and the most earth shattering ones, we always have reason to thank God for what He has done and what we know He will do. Whether we feel grateful or not, whether or not we feel worshipful, there is always reason to worship in gratitude: because His faithful love endures forever.

In one of my piano books there is a praise song from 1978 called "Give Thanks."

The lyrics are simple, yet speak profoundly of why we give thanks.

"Give thanks with a grateful heart

Give thanks to the Holy One

Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son
And now let the weak say, "I am strong"

Let the poor say, "I am rich
Because of what the Lord has done for us"

At Thanksgiving many people go around the table and share why they are thankful.  Some people place corn cornels at each place setting and then pass a basket to put the cornel in with your expression of thanksgiving.  Thanks for family, pets, food, good health, a home, etc will be vocalized.

What if today our offering of thanks consisting of giving thanks for what Jesus has done for us?  For who He is. Dig into scripture.  Go beyond the ultimate sacrifice of dying for our sins.

I'm thankful for:
The Way, the Truth, and the Life
The One who works miracles.
The One who came that I might have life and have it abundantly.
The One who is a light to my path.
The One who is my peace.
The One who values children and says "Let the little children come."
The One who came to earth to be a faithful servant.
The One who takes notice, even saw Zacchaeus in a tree and felt the woman touch his robe.
The One who had to go, so the Helper, the Holy Spirit could come to each of us.
The One who exemplifies perfect obedience to God.
