Secure Peace

These two..nuff said.

On my phone is an app titled: "31 Things to pray for your children."  They are excellent things to pray for ourselves as well. Number 24 flashed at me today.
"Pray that they would be secure and content in God's plan for the world and where they fit into it."  Suggested reading is Ephesians 1

Goodness!  If we could walk the streets right now and poll people, I doubt many would say they are secure and content right now with God's plan to allow Covid-19 to infest the world?
As believers we should be able to call upon the Spirit to fill us up and say we have peace in the Lord.

In Ephesians 1:15-18 Paul prays this prayer over believers

"I have heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all of God’s people. So I never stop being grateful for you, as I mention you in my prayers.  I ask the glorious Father and God of our Lord Jesus Christ to give you his Spirit. The Spirit will make you wise and let you understand what it means to know God. My prayer is that light will flood your hearts and that you will understand the hope that was given to you when God chose you. Then you will discover the glorious blessings that will be yours together with all of God’s people."

When we and hopefully our children know God we will understand that He will allow anything that may draw people to a saving knowledge of Christ.  I was amazed in this first link from history.com how many pandemics have existed over time.  The second article is an extensive Biblical look at pandemics.

When we know the Lord we trust that He is always up to good.  We know this is not our home and that suffering on this earth is part of the journey.  Knowing the depth of God's love for us allows us to have a secure peace in the process of something as devastating as a pandemic.
