Lord, I Need You.

"Lord, I need YOU!  Why do so many feel that they don't?"
That was the conversation starter with a girlfriend this week.

When 911 occurred the church doors were open and we saw people coming in and literally falling to their knees crying out to God. With COVID-19 we can't do that.

Working for hospice I was by many a bedside where family members were calling out to God and surrendering their lives to Him.  With COVID-19 we can't do that.

A year ago a church member's parents' home was destroyed by a tornado.  The community came forth and gathered around, hugging, praying, thanking God that these lives were spared. They worked side by side to clean up the mess and rebuild. Some people who had fallen away from God began going back to church.  With COVID-19 we can't do that.

We are not able to gather and position ourselves to hear people crying out to God in the accustomed way.  This godly girlfriend mentioned above gently pointed me to the fact that God is still doing a major work.  Hundreds of thousands are tasting and seeing that God is good though the Internet.  I'm stopping right now to pray that those testimonies will get out in a similar fashion. The Holy Spirit filled testimonies of what God has done in our lives help fuel the furtherance of the gospel.

This same wise woman addressed my question pondering why so many people feel they don't need Jesus. These people do not believe Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." With the Ten Commandments removed from visibility, with prayer removed from our schools, we are facing younger generations who don't acknowledge sin and thus have no need for a Savior.

Wednesday's Biblegateway verse of the day addressed why no one has an excuse to keep them from acknowledging God.  So, whatever the road blocks, the hurdles, the veils, that we are seeing blind the people...remember.

"God's eternal power and character cannot be seen But from the beginning of creation, God has show what these are like by all he has made. That's why those people don't have any excuse."
Romans 1:20

Was it Forrest Gump who said, "And that's all I have to say about that."

Here's another "No way!" Glimpse from God. Just as I finished writing this devo a text came through and it was a church member wanting me to give a message to my husband.
"My 'one', a lady I've been praying for for a long time, texted me last night and told me she had accepted Christ as her personal Savior.  God is so good even in this rough troubling time!"

Well there you go!  Testimonies being shared over text! Praise the Lord.
