Helicopters and Blimps
March 10
Walking along a south Florida beach seashells may have been difficult to find, but the Met Life Blimp could not be missed. Puttering along slowly I envisioned the people inside peering down upon the beach sites. Suddenly, the horrendous thunder of a helicopter blared overhead as the amazing flying machine zoomed up the beach. They too were probably looking down, but at a must faster pace.
Trying to stay keenly aware of the messages God sends in moments I stopped to think about the different paces God calls us to take in life.
Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. Psalm 46:10
Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.
Psalm 27:14
When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another.
Matthew 10:23
Flee from sexual immorality. 1 Corinthians 6:18
Therefore, my dear friends, flee from idolatry.
1 Corinthians 10:14
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. 1 Timothy 6:10-12
The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.
Proverbs 18:10
but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31
Walk in all the way that the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess. Deuteronomy 5:33
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Hebrews 12:1
Heavenly Father, thank You for the wisdom in Your Word. You are better than any Olympic coach. Give us hearts to trust in Your training and allow You to set the pace. In Jesus' Name, Amen
