February 1 Random Acts of Kindness

Being that February is the "love" month I've accepted a challenge, which I now extend to you, to participate in random acts of kindness each day this month. My mama often told me, "You can't always tell names and tales too." So we will stick to generalities when sharing. Try keeping a journal of where God leads you with these gestures of Christlike love this month and shoot me an email at boojoyful@gmail.com.
Equip yourself with some simple paper hearts, a scripture verse, a pack of lifesavers, a crisp one dollar bill, etc. and be ready to move to the groove of the Holy Spirit and experience real joy!
I will be working today on some good love quotes and heart related verses for you to use. Those will be found in the subtitles above along with new recipes and craft ideas.

One Less Valentine
Random Act #1 for me has been to send a letter to someone who will be sending one less Valentine this year due to the death of a loved one and encourage them by expressing the example they were to me of loving someone well.
Jesus had immense compassion on people experiencing the death of a loved one. He wept with Mary and Martha over the passing of Lazarus. (John Chapter 11) While most likely we have not been involved in bringing anyone back from the dead as Jesus did, we can make a difference by being encouragers to one another and by having compassion on those who are grieving.

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
1 Thessalonians 5:11

Here is the letter, tweaked a bit, for I realized unbeknownst to me, God may have intended it just for you!

Today I decided to stop and pray for those who have had to say good-bye to someone dear to them during the past couple years. The love you forever hold for that person is obvious to those who know you!

Other's lives are richer for experiencing the evidence of that love and it lives on as a teaching tool for others of how to love well. Commitment, sacrifice, trust, joy, and laughter are words, which describe the love you shared.

While there may be one less Valentine to purchase this year, there is a lifetime of memories you have to share and enrich the lives of those still here. Continue to tell the story of your love, it warms many a heart. May the memory of Your Valentine make you smile today.
