One Nation Under God
July 4
The Red White and Blue...to these colors we are true!
Fireworks have been launched the past couple nights and the big shows will be tonight. The hamburger and hot dog buns, along with a lot of watermelons, are flying out of the stores. Picnics are packed and despite the heatwave, people are ready to celebrate! If you questioned individuals about the meaning of this day I wonder what responses you would get?
Would people know the who what where whens of this holiday?
July 4th commemorates the signing of the Declarations of Independence.
It was signed by the Continental Congress on July 4th, 1776, in Philadelphia, PA
Rumor has it these guys prayed!
According to God, what are our responsibilities as citizens of the United States of America?
#1 To Pray
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
Adrian Rogers wrote:"There’s an old proverb, not a Bible proverb, but a wonderful proverb that says, 'If the gold rust, what shall the iron do?'And the meaning is: if those in leadership, those at the helm, do not lead aright, what is going to happen to the rest of us?"
We have a participatory government of, by and for the people. Voting is the minimal way we should be participating.
Make today special by praying for this nation and our leaders with those you are gathering with to celebrate. Reflect back on the foundations formed and fights which have been fought for our freedom. Discuss important issues at hand with this being an election year.
Then chow down on your ribs, burgers, watermelon and ice-cream and watch the fireworks light up the sky!
"Oh beautiful for spacious skies!"
Here is a wonderful article written by my husband on the school's website where he is Head of School.

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice, but when the wicked beareth rule the people mourn. - Proverbs 29:2.Adrian Rogers wrote:"There’s an old proverb, not a Bible proverb, but a wonderful proverb that says, 'If the gold rust, what shall the iron do?'And the meaning is: if those in leadership, those at the helm, do not lead aright, what is going to happen to the rest of us?"
