Best I Can Remember

November 23
Since we alternate major holidays with the in laws of our married children, this Thanksgiving was an off year for us.  One of our son's was able to be with us because his wife was traveling on business and my 92 year old father came for the day.  When he was heading out the door to go back to Roanoke he kissed me and said, "This is one of the nicest Thanksgivings I can remember."  That caught me off guard because usually, all the children are here and sometimes other family members.  Before I could process the comment much further, he made another....."It's the only Thanksgiving I can remember!"
What a great sense of humor!

God is a lot older than my Daddy yet, he forgets nary a thing.  He remembers the day he formed us in our mother's womb and has us engraved in the palm of his hand.  Amazing!

Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne?
Though she may forget I will not forget you!
See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.
Isaiah 49:15-16

Likewise, He doesn't forget our work and the love we have shown him.

God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the
love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.
Hebrews 6:10

Yes, God remembers the good and forgets the bad.  May we seek to be like Him.
I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake,
and remembers your sins no more.
Isaiah 43:25
