Summer is Over

Summer may be over, but the temperatures in Nashville this week led one to believer that summer was in full swing. Do you ever wonder why God designed the seasons?
"To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven." Ecclesiastes 3:1
"God spoke: 'Earth, green up! Grow all varieties of seed-bearing plants, every sort of fruit-bearing tree.' And there is was. Earth produced green seed-bearing plants, all varieties, and fruit-bearing trees of all sorts. God saw that is was good. It was evening, it was morning-Day Three.

I find that I'm almost always ready for the next season. The seasons do "mark" memories from over the years and each holds its special joy.
Each season has a reason! And those reasons can be related to our cycle of life.
Spring-new life
Summer-growth
Autumn- harvest
Winter- rest or death
We may try to rush a season. A teenager longing to be married and have children. A businessperson wanting rapid growth in their career. A sixties something longing to cash in/harvest the years of hard work and retire. And even as we get older those who long for Jesus are ready for the trumpet call!
We are called to learn to be content in each season and trust God's purpose for that time in our life.
"I know that it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want."
Philippians 4:12
I thank God for the cycle of life, for the seasons and for the hope of eternal life.
Hmm? What will the seasons be like in Heaven? Let's pray today that many will come to the saving knowledge of Christ, so that they get to experience heaven!
