Shaded
July 27
The month of June spoiled us here in the mountains of Virginia with cool temps. The heat and humidity the past week has had us longing for a reprieve. We talked with the children about the power of the sun, but also about the amazing power of shade. A place of refuge from the heat.
The Old Testament, especially in the Psalms, is filled with references to God being our refuge.
Refuge: "A condition or being sheltered or protected from pursuit, danger or trouble."
Not only can we run to God as a refuge, but He can equip us to be that protected place for others.
"But let al who take refuge in You be glad, let them ever sing for joy; and may You shelter them, that those who love Your name may exult in You." Psalm 5:11
" God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." Psalm 46:1
"But as for me, I shall sing of Your strength; Yes, I shall joyfully sing of Your loving kindness in the morning, for You have been my stronghold and a refuge in the day of my distress." Psalm 59:16
"But as for me, I shall sing of Your strength; Yes, I shall joyfully sing of Your loving kindness in the morning, for You have been my stronghold and a refuge in the day of my distress." Psalm 59:16
