Tarnished

Pulling out a favorite necklace to wear, I noticed that the clasp had tarnished.  My ride was about to pick me up, so I frantically scrounged around to find my polishing cloth. Recognizing there was no way I'd go out with a tarnished necklace, I was saddened by the realization I was willing to go out with unconfessed sin in my heart.
Turning quickly to the Lord and asking Him to create in my a pure heart the much needed process began.

"Come now, and let us reason together," Says the Lord, "Though your sins are as scarlet, they will be as white as now; though they are red like crimson, they will be like wool."  Isaiah 1:18

November Gratitude
"But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."  Romans 5:8

Consecrate Your Home

  My husband's grandfather and his great uncle built these two homes on their family farm in 1924. They are no longer in existence. The white farmhouse in the background was the first home on the property & was where my husband lived when he was born. Our hearts are breaking here in the south for so many who have lost so much due to Hurricane Helene. Sunday afternoon we huddled in our basement  as a tornado warning blared on our phones. W ell, truth be told my husband went out the door to look for a tornado, as our houseguests and I went to the basement. These physical storms are full of destruction, but there are equally as damaging spiritual storms that can destroy our homes, our families and our relationships.  In the Moving Mountains  book I have been referencing John Eldredge has written a "Prayer of Consecration for a Home." 10 Traits of a Godly Man

The birthday son on a scout campout with his 12 year old son in Minnesota. It was the birthday of one of our sons. As I was writing a prayer for him related to his character, I googled traits of a godly man. I sent him the one below. Next my mind wandered to so many godly men who are a blessing to my life and particularly an encouragement to my husband who is a full time pastor. I decided to take the time to send the article to them and pray for them. I prayed: I'm stopping to pray right now for the Lord to fill you with wisdom, grace, a faith that strengthens everyday, and Holy Spirit directed prayers that reveal the authority we have in Christ our Lord, in whose name I pray.
