Be Cheerful

March 13
Now I know Easter is all about Jesus and the resurrection, but I've had these happy bunnies for years and I always put them out in spring as a reminder we are to be fruitful and multiple and share the joy of Jesus wherever we go.  The mama bunny really makes me laugh as she looks on enjoying the antics of her little ones.  Do something today to make another person laugh, for the Bible commands us time and again to live cheerfully.

The people and their leaders were glad to do it and cheerfully brought their money until the chest was full.  2 Chronicles 24:10

Worry weighs us down; a cheerful word picks us up.  Proverbs 12:25

A cheerful heart brings a smile to your face; a sad heart makes it hard to get through the day.  Proverbs 15:13

A miserable heart means a miserable life' a cheerful heart fills the day with song. Proverbs 15:15

A cheerful disposition is good for you health; gloom and doom leave you bone-tired.  Proverbs 17:22

Don't burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don't quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Help needy Christians; be inventive in hospitality.  Romans 12:11-13

But neither exile nor homecoming is the main thing.  Cheerfully pleasing God is the main thing, and that's what we aim to do, regardless of our conditions.  Sooner or later we'll all have to face God, regardless of our conditions. We will appear before Christ and take what's coming to us as a result of our actions, either good or bad.  2 Corinthians 5:9-10

And that's about it, friends.  Be cheerful.  Keep things in good repair.  Keep your spirits up.  Think in harmony. Be agreeable.  Do all that, and the God of love and peace will be with you for sure.  Greet one another with a holy embrace.
2 Corinthians 13:11-13

Do everything readily and cheerfully-no bickering, no second-guessing allowed!  God out into the world uncorrupted, a breath of fresh air in this squalid and polluted society. Provide people with a glimpse of good living and of the living God.  Carry the light-giving Message into the night so I'll have a good cause to be proud of you on the day that Christ returns.  You'll be living proof that I didn't go to all this work for nothing.   Philippians 2:14-16

Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens.  This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ to live. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Don't those passages fill you with joy?  They make me cheerful!

Here's a riddle I heard last week that made me laugh...What does a bird's cell phone sound like?
The answer....wing wing.
