Under Attack

This summer we played pirate games.
Going out on the boat and "staying alert" for pirate attacks was so much fun.
The particular afternoon pictured above a gang of six Seadoos came flying upon us,
way to close, jumping our wake.  I yelled out "Attack, attack!  Get the canons ready!"
If only we had brought our water balloon launcher, we could have had some fun!
(I'm laughing out loud..water balloons self corrected to watermelons.
Now that would have created a stir.)

October 4
What has snuck up and attacked you lately?  A diagnosis, a betrayal, a bill?

Our pastor preached a powerful sermon Sunday as part of a series called "You'll Get Through This."
The October 2 sermon probably won't be online for a few days, but is worth checking out. http://www.franklinheights.org/sermons

In the sermon he challenges us not to be naive about the evil force at work to kill, steal and destroy us.

"Be sober minded: be watchful.
Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour."
1 Peter 5:8

Sunday night a small group of us gathered together and we prayed for our minds and our hearts.

"For out of the heart come evil thoughts:
murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander."
Matthew 15:19
