Steve Irwin the "Crocodile Hunter"

When one of our sons was in high school he had a fabulous routine he would put on, with a spot on Australian accent, filled with quotes from the now deceased Steve Irwin. One of those lines was "When I say Believe me...Believe me!" It makes me chuckle remembering those days.

When was the last time you said, "You are not going to believe this!" Wouldn't that be a great way to start a conversation about what Jesus has done for us?

Believe -Believe in Jesus even though we have not seen Him-yet we are blessed by believing.  

Jesus said, “Thomas, do you have faith because you have seen me? The people who have faith in me without seeing me are the ones who are really blessed!” John 20:29

Care-What do you care about and who are you caring for?

Another one of our sons called to chat recently and was explaining that their 7 year old son had saved his money and bought a lizard.  He named him "Dundee" from the movie "Crocodile Dundee". The unforeseen part of this purchase was that Dundee had to be fed live morsels.  (Worms and roaches that our grandson had to keep on hand.)  It wasn't a week before our grandson realized care for a living creature is time consuming and not quite what he was up for at this stage of his life. The pet store took Dundee and his entire habit back.  Thank you Jesus. 

God never sends us back!  Hallelujah, because we are a whole lot to care for.

Care - Remember and trust that God cares so much we can give our concerns to Him.  

...cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares about you. 1 Peter 5:7

Marriage Matters #1

One of life's deepest hurts is when the one you love is unfaithful. Forty years ago, I remember an older friend, whose wife had been unfaithful and left him for another man saying to me..."Boo, I hope you never experience having the person you love and are married to, living 8 blocks away loving someone else." Deep hurt. They divorced. The wife of another friend of ours was having an affair with a fellow church member and a neighbor of theirs who lived 5 blocks away. She moved in with this man and our friend said one evening he was walking by the house where they were living together and saw them sitting at a table having a candlelight dinner. Ugh. The torment. I've always said it would be aweful to find out the person you were married to and  loved deeply loved another.  Hmm. Are You Sinking... Being Tossed About?

  A text came in from our neighbor recently, on a cold blustery day, when I was home with a stomach bug and awful headache. He said, "My canoe blew off our dock and has floated over to your shore."  And I'm thinking..."And you want me to do what?" I explained my husband was at work, but could help in the afternoon. I went to the window and could see the boat being tossed back and forth along our shore line. One minute it was close to our main dock and the next the winds had shifted and it was 200 feet in the opposite direction.  What I then realized is it had been taking on water. A text came again that he was in his car and driving around to our property.  Climbing out of my night shirt, I put on warm ups, UGGS boots and a hooded coat and limped outside to see how I could help.
