Run the Race

February 2

Well, last night James Harrison laid aside everything
and everyone who tried to ensnare him and ran 100
yards, after an interception, for a touch down in the
Super Bowl. He put on some major moves!

The day was so gorgeous yesterday that I set before
myself a goal to walk to a nearby park. I am not sure
how many miles it was and there were some "HILLacious"
spots, but just imagining the lake and mountain view
awaiting me was incentive to keep going. Praise the Lord,
I ran into a friend there who drove me home!

Hebrews Chapter 12 encourages us as believers to be
out and about in this faith walk like Christ was and
to persevere by keeping our eyes on Jesus!

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud
of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and
the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with
perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes
on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the
joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and
sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him
who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will
not grow weary and lose heart.

Let's Pray: Lord, You have placed before us a new year, a new
month, and a new week, but all we have to do is look to You to
get us through this new day. Father, the outlook is rather bleak
for our nation right now and people are hurting. Help us to not
grow weary of doing good for one another and may we remember You
will supply all our needs. May Your church persevere in this race
until You call us home. In Jesus Name, Amen
