Associating
February 23
Associating:to join as a partner, friend, or companion; to keep company with to join or connect together; to bring together or into relationship in any of various intangible ways.
The disciples were certainly blessed through their association with Jesus.
They watched and learned from His ways first hand. Looking out onto the
Lake this morning there are twelve seagulls soaring around, associating together, making an occasional dip into the Lake for a fish for breakfast!
When I step out into today, I will keep the company of middle schoolers,
fellowship with a group of my peers for lunch, then take on the role of mother
with one of our children for a medical appointment, then finally return home
to my spouse. Quite a variety of relationships for one day!
There is a constant that we can carry along when we are out and about
associating in a myriad of relationships...the constant is Christ. When we are "joined to or connected together" with Christ we are equipped with the
Holy Spirit who is our stabilizer in all situations!
John 21:25 says Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them
were written down, I supposed that even the whole world would not have
room for the books that would be written. What a great person to
take along into all situations. Nothing surprises Him!
Let's Pray: Lord, you know all whom we will be called
to associate with today, but we pray that You are our main stay!
While today may look only like another Monday, may we lay our heads
down today knowing through our connection with You we made a difference
for Your kingdom. In Jesus' Name, Amen
