Disguised
Tamar was told, "Your father-in-law has gone to Timnah to shear his sheep. "She took off her widow's clothes, put on a veil to disguise herself, and sat at the entrance to Enaim which is on the road to Timnah. She realized by not that even though Shelah was grown up, she wasn't going to be married to him. Judah saw her and assumed she was a prostitute since she had veiled her face. He left the road and went over to her. He said, "Let me sleep with you." He had not idea that she was his daughter-in-law. Genesis 38:15-18
Playing dress up has been a favorite activity at our house for years. One son, seen on this "stick" horse as Superman, still has a blast in adulthood. There are some intriguing Bible stories where dressing up to deceive (disguised) plays an intricate part. (If you've never read Tamar's tale, check out the full story.)
Here's our tough question. Are we clearly identified as Christians, passionately appreciative for what Christ did for us on the cross or do we just disguise ourselves as such on occasion?
