No Turning Back

March 22
Oh, Lord, what is on the agenda?" I asked myself when I awaken with the song lyrics
"No, turning back" on my heart.
Ransacking my brain I tried to think of situations I have been in where there was no turning back...
Getting off a ski lift in Colorado and starting down a mountain on skis.
Sitting on a plane and feeling the force that pushes you back during take off.
Contractions squeezing across my abdomen, alerting me to the onset of labor!
Publicly proclaiming my love and commitment to Christ through baptism.

Investigating the hymn on my heart, I was blown away to find it was written by either Ramke W. Momin or Obed W. Momin, who are believed to be the first converts to Christianity from the Garo tribe in India. Whew, that adds some impact to the lyrics and the realization that for them, there was no turning back after deciding to follow Jesus.

I have decided to follow Jesus; I have decided to follow Jesus;
I have decided to follow Jesus; No turning back, no turning back.

Though I may wonder, I still will follow; Though I may wonder, I still will follow;
Though I may wonder, I still will follow; No turning back, no turning back.

The world behind me, the cross before me; The world behind me, the cross before me;
The world behind me, the cross before me; No turning back, no turning back.

Though none go with me, still I will follow; Though none go with me, still I will follow;
Though none go with me, still I will follow; No turning back, no turning back.

My cross I’ll carry, Till I see Jesus; My cross I’ll carry Till I see Jesus, :
My cross I’ll carry Till I see Jesus, No turning back, No turning back.

Will you decide now to follow Jesus? Will you decide now to follow Jesus?
Will you decide now to follow Jesus? No turning back, no turning back.
