In The Twinkling of An Eye

March 21
A talented balloonist took 5 skydivers up south of Atlanta. In moments a storm rushed in and quickly the balloon operator instructed the parachuters to jump. While he saved their lives, he was whisked up into the storm and killed.

Enjoying a hot, hot afternoon with temperatures well into the 80's I sat on our screened porch and enjoyed the many boaters on the water. The sun shown brightly onto our porch as I sipped a glass of ice water to keep cool. Most of the boats came in and out quickly, but one moved at a much slower pace and was unusual in shape. It was a two seater, pedal driven, pontoon with a canape top. The ladies maneuvering this vessel were having a grand time. The skies were bright and sunny with fluffy white clouds in the direction they were headed, but I thought I heard a rumble of thunder. Minutes later, the winds whipped up, white caps appeared and lightening struck across the sky. Motorized boats could be seen scrambling for cover, but the pedal boat was out of my sight. All I knew to do was to pray they had been wise enough to take cover back in the cove.

Life is full of uncertainties. If we wait until the eleventh hour to ask Jesus into our hearts, we might be whisked away at 10.

Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed—in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 1 Corinthians 15:51-52
