Marriage Matters #2

This series continues...

Hebrews 13:4

Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.

May husband would add that pets and children should also stay out of our bed.

There is a sign in our yard that says, "The grass may seem greener on the other side, but it still has to be mowed."

When I've become frustrated with my spouse, usually over the tiniest things, like a spill left unwiped or a mess in the sink; I've learned to take the thought captive and remember, there are 20 women I will pass by today who would love to have him as their husband.  Then I stop and pray and thank the Lord for a faithful husband who has endured my idiosyncrasies and way out there personality for 45 years.

The hurts we encounter are no suprise to God.  He wants to carry us through.

February Heart Quote

"The greatest need in the world is the transformation of human nature.  We need a new heart that will not have lust and greed and hate in it. We need a heart filled with Love and peace and joy, and that is why Jesus came into the world."

Billy Graham

Hold On

I have a category on Prayer Mate for marriages that I am praying regularly for.

I was praying for one couple in particular and the phrase "Hold On" came to mind.

Then my old brain flashed back to a song recorded in the 1960's by Joe Tex

"Hold On to What You Got"   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GFq-FT1rZM

Check out the lyrics "Before you can count, one, two, three!"

You'd better hold on, hold on to what you've gotYou'd better hold on, hold on to what you've got'Cause if you think nobody wants itJust throw it away and you will seeSomeone will have it before you can count one, two, threeYes they will, yes they willListen fellows, you know it's not all the timeThat a man can have a good womanA women he can call his very ownA woman who will stay right there at homeAnd mind the children while he's gone to workA woman who will have his dinner cookedWhen he comes homeWhere some men make mistakes isWhen they go out and stay because they feelThat no other man wants his woman but him??But listen, if you think no other man wants herJust throw her away and you will seeSome men will have her before you can count one, two, threeYes he will, yes he will
Listen girls, this goes for you tooBecause you know I've seen so many women who've had so many good men in lifeMen who would stand by them through thick and thinMen who'd go to work everyday andBring home their hard earned payMen who'd give their woman anythingThat their little hearts desiredWhere some women make mistakes isWhen their men go out and let 'em play they would stayBecause they felt that no other woman wanted him but herListen, if you think no other woman wants himJust pitch him out in the street and you will seeSome woman will have your manBefore you can count one, two, threeYes she will, yes she will
