Got Questions? Gnocchi I do!
November 23
Walking the grocery aisles of Target I looked at a packaged item called gnocchi. I had no clue what it was. The directions said to put it in boiling water, but that was all. Being clueless, I decided to Google it when I got home and found out it is an Italian product similar to a soft dumpling. What did we do before Google? We mostly relied on the encyclopedia.
Often we are either too lazy or too embarrassed to ask when we don't know something. Do we avoid asking Biblical questions? I recently came across a Christian web site called:
www.gotquestions.org
It is filled with random questions concerning Christianity. Yesterday's topic, related to what the Christian's focus should be on Thanksgiving, was excellent.
Sleeping with a man involved with ministry, who has a head and heart full of Biblical knowledge, I thought about pastors, Christian educators and other ministry leaders. While they have their time to shine and spread God's Word in the pulpit or when addressing groups, so often a lot of their time is spent putting out fires, praying with others over problems, and listening to complaints. I wonder how often to they have someone schedule an appointment, send an email or make a call to discuss a faith based question. Wouldn't that just thrill their heart!
Got questions? Go to some God based sources and get some good answers.
But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. This is why it says:'When he ascended on high, he led captives in his train and gave gifts to me.'...It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up... Ephesians 4:7, 11-12
