Are We Ready to Receive?
September 27
One of our adopted grandsons has earned the privilege of starting quarterback (as only a sophomore) at a large public school in SC. He is a precious young man who loves the Lord and has a humble heart. Watching him perform, I began thinking about God quarterbacking our lives. He has a play (a plan). He takes the field and is looking for good receivers to carry out the play (plan). We need to have our eyes open, be in a good position, and trust Him to deliver!

There isn't a victory or even a score every time, so we need to persevere. Losses occur and pain is inflicted, but we trust our coach. On the sidelines there are teammates to assist us and in the stands are people who are cheering for us and those who are sneering at us. At the game's ending, we evaluate the performance, learn from our mistakes, go back for more coaching and training for what is to come next!
God has plans for us. Whether we receive them or not is our choice They might involve going to all the nations and preaching the Gospel or simply taking a pie to a neighbor or hugging a co-worker or friend who is discouraged. He does have a game plan, which is intended to bring Him glory and bring others to know Christ.
Paul shares what we receive in this partnership.
By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. 2 Corinthians 1:3-5
For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. 1 Corinthians 15:2-4
Are we ready to receive His will for today?
