Start Fresh Pattern By Paul

January 18

Paul was such a people person! I delight in his letter to the Philippians. He overflows with thankfulness for the generosity and kindness of these people and he takes very seriously the ministry of encouragement to which he feels a calling. Paul has recognized that following Christ means accepting a new set of standards (deny self and following Christ) which is a high calling.

The verses I have selected below are great steps to readying ourselves for a fresh start of any kind!

Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Philippians 1:6

Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.

Philippians 1:27a

For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.

Philippians 2:13

. . . I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.

Philippians 3:12b

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Philippians 4:6

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Philippians 4:13

My God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:19

Pray:

There is none like You Lord. Whatever You set before us, You will meet our needs and show us the way to press on in the strength of Christ if we just make our requests known. Help us to lay our anxieties aside and conduct ourselves in life with a confidence that You are a God, who works in us for good and for a planned completion. In Jesus' Name, Amen
