Act Two-The Entrance of Evil

I am not inferring that these geese are evil, but they do make a nasty mess...
thus I shooed them off our property
September 13
Why does every story have a villain? I'd much rather skip the evil parts and just see what happens in the happily ever after!  Evil entered God's story when a war broke out.  A war in another realm from ours...the heavenly realm.

And there was a war in heaven.  Revelation 12:7

Those who battled and continue to battle now are not chubby faced cherubs with white fluffy wings.  Check out this angelic description in Daniel 10:4-6

On the twenty-fourth day of the first month, as I was standing on the bank of the great river, the Tigris, I looked up and there before me was a man dressed in linen, with a belt of the finest gold around his waist.  His body was like chrysolite, his face like lightening, his eyes like flaming torches, his arms and legs like the gleam of burnished bronze, and his voice like the sound of a multitude.

Awesome description of who I want guarding my back!  When we think of angels encamped around us reread Daniel's description and get fired up.  Sometimes I am very much aware of the spiritual battle around our property, which we call Shiloh. I find myself praying for the strength of the angels engaged in warfare.  Watching the nasty black crows flying around cawing out against the eagles and mighty blue jays stirs the image for me of angels and demons in action.

Back to the main character who started this war story...
You were the model of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.  You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you:ruby, topaz and emerald, chrysolite, onyx and jasper, sapphire, turquoise and beryl.  Your settings and mountings were made of gold' on the day you were created they were prepared.  You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for so I ordained you.  You were on the holy mount of God; you walked among the fiery stones.  You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created till wickedness was found in you.  Ezekiel 28:12-15

"His name was Lucifer. "Son of the morning." Glorious as the sun. Unequaled among his noble peer...Pride entered Lucifer's heart.  The excellent captain came to believe he was being cheated somehow.  He didn't merely want to play a noble role in the Story; he wanted the Story to be about him.  He coveted the throne; he wanted to be the star. He wanted the worship and adoration for himself."

Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor.   Ezekiel 28:17

(For any of you thinking about Hollywood, may I suggest you tape this verse on your dressing room mirror.)

So now the stage is set as evil enters the picture.  Maybe today you can ask someone what they think angels look like and share God's description from Ezekiel 28.  Take the conversation a step further and share what a shame it is that Lucifer became so full of himself.
