Flag Flavors

Cruising the cove in the kayak, it was fun to inspect the various flags flying on people's docks. These flags captured the identity of these individuals...whether as proud Americans or faithful college fans, they were making a statement of their allegiance!
Maybe instead of the fish symbol on the back of our cars we should get those little magnetic flags with the Christian symbol! Do any of you fly a Christian flag at your home? If we had these flying then it would be easier for our Christian brothers and sisters to find a place of hospitality if they are out sojourning, as described in 3 John 1:5.
Dear friend, when you extend hospitality to Christian brothers and sisters, even when they are strangers, you make the faith visible. They've made a full report back to the church here, a message about your love. It's good work you're doing, helping these travelers on their way, hospitality worthy of God himself! They set out under the banner of the Name, and get no help from unbelievers. So they deserve any support we can give them. In providing meals and a bed, we become their companions in spreading the Truth.
This weekend we are allowing a group of young 20-30 year olds to come camp here at Shiloh. We do not know these individuals, but are excited to offer them a place to gather as they encourage one another in their faith. I needed this message today to spur me on to good works for the weekend!
