What Makes You Squawk?
The Canadian geese arrived in our cove in early fall, as they do every year. While they are beautiful to watch flying in their "V" formation, it does make a mess in your yard when 50 of them descend. The other night they must have been sleeping in our yard when a predator pounced in upon their flock. I've never heard such squawking! There were no geese remains in the yard the following day, so they either all escaped or whomever captured one, took it to the woods for a midnight meal.
The incident caused me to consider…What makes us squawk and cry out? Definitely, like the geese, fear. What makes us open our mouths and squawk truth in the spiritual sense, when others may be silent. Below are two dynamic verses to spur us on to squawk for Jesus and against the sin of a friend.
But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God's instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night and day difference he made for you-from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted. 1 Peter 2:9-10
Live creatively, friends. If someone falls into sin, forgivingly restore him, saving your critical comments for yourself. You might be needing forgiveness before the day's out. Stoop down and reach out to those who are oppressed. Share their burdens, and so complete Christ's law. If you think you are too good for that, you are badly deceived. Galatians 6:1
