Be All that We Can Be
We celebrated birthday #4 with this princess!
May 14
An instructor from the exercise program Daily Burn made a statement, which really caught my attention.
"It's really easy to work on the things that we are good at,
but if you want to get stronger you need to be working on
the things that don't come easy."
This pertains to our spiritually lives as well. Areas of natural giftedness have been bestowed on each believer, but that doesn't mean we neglect the others.
"We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve, if it is teach, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, to it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully." Romans 12:6-8
Prayer may be a natural passion of ours, yet we are not to neglect feeding on the Word, praising, sharing the gospel with others, or doing work unto the Lord. We are not to select just one Fruit of the Spirit or refrain from just the vices which hold less temptation.
"The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other. Galatians 5:19-23
Let's be all that we can be for Jesus, by the power of the Holy Spirit in us!
