One dictionary definition of invest is: "Devote one's time, effort or energy into a particular undertaking with the expectation of worth while results."
We invest in our marriages, our schooling, our jobs, our homes; in parenting, in financial endeavors, and hobbies. If we calculated the amount of money and time we put towards these things and compared that to the money and time we a lot to learning about God and spreading the Gospel, what would the comparison look like?
"I will study your commandments and reflect on your ways." Psalm 119:15
"Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do." Joshua 1:8
Being invested in God and furthering the Gospel is an excellent precursor to walking through the rest of life.
