To Be...Heard
September 4
Can You Hear Me Now?
Living down in a hole in a rural mountain community we often
find it necessary to reposition ourselves to receive cell phone calls. Matthew 7:7-8 says:
Ask and it will be
given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be open to
you. For everyone who asks
receives; he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks the door will be open.
Initiative is necessary when it comes to the knocking
process. Purposeful persistent
positioning prospers the prayer process.
Opening our Bibles, bowing in prayer, choosing the Christian Internet
site, radio or TV station and taking time to be alone and be still are steps in
the right direction. Hearing God
requires a healthy, holy, heart condition or the honesty to humbly admit we
need help to harvest such a habitat.
God’s Word is full of great advice! He loves us and wants to
communicate with us today! I can’t
imagine our children walking through our home and us ignoring them.
Likewise, our heavenly Father isn’t of a nature to shun his children. Let wisdom and truth sink in. Do you know Him as Father? Does He call you one of His own?

The reason you do not
hear is that you do not belong to God. John 8:47
My sheep listen to my
voice; I know them and they follow me.
John 10:27
When I wanted my own children or my students to listen I
would say,
“Put your ears on.” So much of hearing from the Lord equates to the level of our listening ability.

So Eli told Samuel, Go
and lie down, and if he calls you, say, “Speak, Lord, for your servant is
listening.” 1
Samuel 3:9
Love the Lord your
God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. Deuteronomy 30:20
May He speak to each of us this day.
