Watch Your Boat

I’ve focused on Jonah so much in the whale story that I’ve never pondered like Mary,  the great cost Jonah’s presence was to the other sailors.  Powerful words from the entry "Watch Your Boat" in Priscilla Shirer's book Awaken teach an important lesson.
“Being in close proximity to people in the crosshairs of God's corrective measures can put you in the line of fire as well….Before you enter another work arrangement or binding
contract or serious friendship that seems like it’s going somewhere positive, see if their heart is tender toward God and submitted to His way…because if a storm of discipline is coming in somebody else’s life, you don’t want to be in the line of fire.”  Such good, good teaching!  wOOt!

She emphasizes that "sin is no good for us" and God will use his justice, discipline, wrath and awesome fearful presence to right our path when we choose to willfully disobey and remain unrepentant because he wants to restore us to Himself.

I like where she instructs us..."take great care in choosing those you intend to travel any distance with".
"He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.”  Proverbs 13:20

“Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?”   2 Corinthians 6:14

I’ve found a good guideline for “close proximity” relationships is being able to pray with the other person and the other person being willing to pray for you.
