Distractions
We have a new little distraction coming in September.
Grandbaby #12.
We don't know yet if it's a boy or a girl, but we do know he/she will watch
Carolina sports with dad and Kentucky with mom. We received this onsie in the mail!
Several weeks ago our church was called to 40 Days of Fasting and Prayer. We are fasting one day a week, seeking God and pray without ceasing. The day of fasting is a time of focusing on the Lord by intentionally laying distractions aside. That takes discipline and prayer. On the particular day I wrote this the door bell rang twice, a favorite family member called on the phone and multiple "must answer now" texts came through during the first three hours of my fast. Distractions.
Distraction is defined as "a shifting of your attention from something of greater importance to some of lesser value."
Our pastor challenged us to realize that what we often think of as an opportunity could be a distraction. Remember Satan's goal is to divert us away to what the Lord is calling us to.
"But he turned and said to Peter, 'Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me. For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.'" Matthew 16:23
