Positive People

I am still under conviction related to how easily a spirit of grumbling came upon me a few Sundays ago.

The Israelites were were prone to grumble against God, even after miraculous provisions occurred in their lives.

In John 6:43 Jesus senses that spirit of grumbling arising and says “Do not grumble among yourselves."

"They help you become better and not bitter. Remember, there is nothing positive about being negative."

Paul speaks words of wisdom to the believers in Philippi:

Do everything without grumbling or arguing. Then you will be the pure and innocent children of God. You live among people who are crooked and evil, but you must not do anything they can say is wrong. Try to shine as lights among the people of this world, as you hold firmly to the message that gives life. Then on the day when Christ returns, I can take pride in you. I can also know that my work and efforts were not useless. Philippians 2:14-16

Sometimes I stop and think, if Jesus came back right now what sort of spirit would he find me portraying.  Sitting on the dock one day this summer I said to my daughter, "Can you believe all five of your brothers and your mother and father are in some sort of PT due to a physical issue?" She replied, "Well, at least no one is taking chemo." Amen, she's right.
