In everything I've been studying recently, the message has been "It is the Lord who goes before you." "It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed." Deuteronomy 31:8 I shared I haven't felt well for two months. My doctor scheduled an MRI that was to have been last Friday.  I had done an on-phone questionnaire and then another online one with 10 minutes of questions to rule out anythings in my body that could be dangerous to having an MRI.   As I showered that morning (that's the place I hear from the Lord quite often), I remembered that two years ago I broke my front tooth on a Saturday night.  I was flying out the next day to Florida where a new grandson was in the ICU.  My sweet dentist met us Sunday morning and did a temporary fix by using a PAPER CLIP as a post for my broken off tooth.  Two weeks later I returned for the replacement tooth and the dentist...

I have always liked tea towels with an inspiriting message! Just ordered this one! Sometimes when I am still before the Lord, I get a word out of nowhere, but it usually is God pushing me somewhere. Maybe I been looking at too many boat propellers this summer for the word that came to me was propulsion.  I don't think I've every said that word. Propulsion-"The act of driving or pushing forward."  In scripture the closest thing I could find was perseverance.   Daily life deals us obstacles that require reliance on God and faith in  Him.  Faith...the act of believing without seeing, because we know we are loved. Romans 5:1-11 (CEV) speaks to this so eloquently. " By faith we have been made acceptable to God. And now, because of our Lord Jesus Christ, we live at peace with God.  Christ has also introduced us to God’s undeserved kindness on which we take our stand. So we are happy, as we look forward to sharing in the glory of God....

"Go with God." As the words washed over my mind following a personal retreat with the Lord, my first thought was... "That's a benediction, a blessing, but what God just gave me was a task to complete?"Hmm, God's assignments usually turn out to be blessings so I best go with God. Some benedictions raced into my thoughts. You know, like Moses' brother Aaron, gave the Israelites in Numbers chapter six. There were six statements to cheer them on: 1) May the Lord bless you 2) And keep you. 3) May the Lord smile upon you 4) And be graced unto you. 5) May the Lord show His favor to you 6) And give you peace. In 2 Corinthians 13:14 Paul poured out this benediction on the Corinthians using the Trinity. 1) The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ 2) The love of God the Father 3) The fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. There is a sweet love between these two. I was sitting by a pool with a friend last week. The thing I love most about this gal is that whatever the conversational topic, she weaves the Word into it.  We were discussing trouble marriages and she said she likes to ask others the question: "What is love?"  She continued, "Love is not a feeling. It is a verb, an action. When we commit to marriage, we commit to choose to love by our actions.!" It takes Holy Spirit initiative to love that way. Isn't that cool! "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. "  1 John 4:7 Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”    "He didn’t wait for us to be good enough. This watermelon with balsamic glaze and honey was one of my go to recipes this summer. For eight weeks I've battle head issues.  A friend said, "Try Claritin."  There was some in my husbands medicine cabinet. On the outside of the Claritin box it said that these were dissolvable tablets to be placed on your tongue.  The pill was so bitter and took forever to dissolve.  It was hard to believe people would actually do this. The next day as I pulled out the silver packet to punch out a pill I noticed it was a different shape than the previous day. Looking closely the writing said, "Allegra," and it was NOT a dissolvable tablet.  He had place two types of allergy medicine into one box! While I had read the label on the big box, I didn't bother to read the inside packet.  We need to be aware of what we are reading in the spiritual sense too.  The title may sound great, but it if doesn't line up with Biblical principals it might not be what is best...

Another thing that is oh, so, Kool is God's plan of salvation because of how much he loves us.  He is so patient with us! Things will not be cool, but very hot, when the earth comes to an end. "Dear friends, don’t forget that for the Lord one day is the same as a thousand years, and a thousand years is the same as one day. The Lord isn’t slow about keeping his promises, as some people think he is. In fact, God is patient, because he wants everyone to turn from sin and no one to be lost. The day of the Lord’s return will surprise us like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a loud noise, and the heat will melt the whole universe.  Then the earth and everything on it will be seen for what they are. Everything will be destroyed. So you should serve and honor God by the way you live.   You should look for...

This week I had the privilege of being with these boys on the morning they headed off to a new school.  I was amazed at the peace they had. I'm sure it helped having a brother alongside. That same night I sat for 3 1/2 hours in an emergency room.  There was no peace in that place. Heart wrenching and disturbing all at the same time.  The work the Lord provided for my husband to do during that waiting period was so unexpected, but so God ordained. Philippians 4:6 is familiar to all of us. "... do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God ." Paul's words pack a big punch when we realize he wrote them from prison to his beloved Christian brothers and sisters in Philippi.
