Just tell Me why you love Me

Some family members loved me enough to brave the journey and bring me a delicious birthday cake.

The Journal I referenced yesterday actually had no entries until May 27th of that year.   

Jeremiah 29:11 was at the top of the first page.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future. 

My entry:

“It’s the Friday before Memorial Day. I’m exhausted from all the work trying to get Shiloh ready for the summer season.  I still see effects from the stroke, but am so thankful for how far I’ve come and that we have this beautiful place for our family to enjoy this summer. It’s a scorcher today, I’ve been working on the beach and now the boathouse and I’m too tired to hike the hill, so I’ve come away to a shady spot to rest in your magnificent love Father and listen to you.  

My type A personality wants to get right down to the “to do” list, but I’m hearing You say, 'Just tell Me why you love Me.'  WOW! We all want to hear that…You’ve made us with that desire, but we forget to spend time telling You."

Here was my response:

"I love you because…

You are my Father

You gave me life and give me breath.

You are all knowing, yet still desire fellowship with my sinful self.

You are loving, gracious, compassionate, holy, truthful, patient, righteous, my All in All.

You never leave me

You want to fellowship with me

You have a purpose for me

You first loved me and drew me to Yourself

Instinctively my heart yearns for you.

Without You I am nothing."

Take a time out with Jesus and tell him why you love him!
